The American Songbook series continued to enthrall us last night with Rob Fisher’s tribute to John Kander and Frank Ebb – the duo responsible for the music of Cabaret, Chicago, and Fosse who gave Liza Minelli her first Broadway role and have become synonymous with the careers of Chita Rivera and Joel Grey – both of whom made special guest appearances last night along with Marin Mazzie and Jason Danieley!

SPOTTED AT LINCOLN CENTER: Katie Holmes, Frances McDormand, Mary Tyler Moore, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Joel Cohen, Joel Grey and Wallace Shawn!
This past week, actresses Frances McDormand and Mary Tyler Moore, actors Joel Grey and Wallace Shawn and filmmaker Joel Coen came to the David Rubenstein Atrium at Lincoln Center to check out Christian Marclay’s spectacular 24-hour work of video art The Clock.
And last night, actress Katie Holmes and dancer/actor Mikhail Baryshnikov came to see the Sydney Theater Company’s production of Uncle Vanya at New York City Center. Baryshnikov is also performing in Dmitry Krymov Laboratory’s sold-out production of In Paris, which begins next Wednesday at the Gerald W. Lynch Theater.
Of course, The Clock, Uncle Vanya and In Paris are all part of this year’s fabulous Lincoln Center Festival.
Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts (LCPA) serves three primary roles: presenter of superb artistic programming, national leader in arts and education and community relations, and manager of the Lincoln Center campus. As a presenter of some 5,000 programs and events annually, LCPA’s offerings include American Songbook, Great Performers, Lincoln Center Out of Doors, Midsummer Night Swing, the Mostly Mozart Festival, White Light Festival, and Live From Lincoln Center. In addition, LCPA is leading a series of major capital projects, now nearly complete, on behalf of the resident organizations across the campus. Lincoln Center is a 16-acre campus housing 11 prestigious cultural organizations including LCPA.
