Lincoln Center Out of Doors 2013 is here!

The 43rd Season of Lincoln Center Out of Doors runs from July 24 - August 11, featuring more than 100 free events across the plazas of Lincoln Center. Twenty-one premieres and debuts highlight this latest edition of one of the country’s longest-running, free, summer outdoor festivals.

Highlights include:

KRONOS at 40, celebrating the 40th anniversary of the path-breaking Kronos Quartet with special guests Dan Deacon, Jherek Bischoff, and more

Taking it outside…

Ready for Lincoln Center Out of Doors 2013? We announce all the details of this summer’s FREE outdoor series, considered among New York’s best by Time Out New York, tomorrow. Stay tuned….

 

After a beautiful day yesterday, we’re mentally preparing ourselves for rain and snow tomorrow and counting the days until we are back in the warmth and sunshine of the summer. One of our favorite bits of summer is our free Lincoln Center Out of Doors festival and apparently you love it too! Time Out just put us on the “50 Reasons Why NYC is the Greatest City in the World” list and we couldn’t be happier. Check out the whole list here and then tell us what your favorite part of NYC is.

 

German classical/techno ensemble Brandt Brauer Frick was a highlight of this summer’s Lincoln Center Out of Doors festival. Dubspot was there and interviewed the trio and captured some performance highlights. Enjoy!

 

The New York Times calls Tangle something that looks “as if it were created by Spiderman after a hefty dose of hallucinogens.” Yesterday, children got their first shot at creating a messy elastic playground on the plazas of Lincoln Center. Tangle will continue to grow through this Sunday, the 29th, on Josie Robertson Plaza. Here, a member of Polyglot Theatre Company shapes the playground between performances.

“Freak Out!” Come listen to classic disco hits like “Le Freak” and “We Are Family” tonight at Damrosch Park. Nile Rodgers & The Chic Organization open Lincoln Center Out of Doors tonight with a disco dance party to remember! It all starts at 6:00 with a DJ set by DJ KS*360 a.k.a. Kwikstep, followed by Nile Rodgers and Chic with the disco hits we all know and love.
